Serial Number Engraving
Jacobs Tactical offers an 80% lower receiver serialization service. We laser engrave text to a depth greater than 0.003 inches as required by ATF's specification for serial number marking and California law. To meet ATF serial number requirements, the following information must appear on the completed lower receiver:
Serial Number: We recommend using less than 12 characters of text. You can use letters, numbers, or combination of both. ATF requires serial numbers to be unique for each firearm you manufacture and then serialize.
Caliber: We will mark your receiver as multi-caliber.
Manufacturer’s name: Maximum of 30 characters of text including spaces. We will have to split it into two lines of text if you exceed 14 characters in total length when using locations B or C.
Manufacturer’s city and state: Enter city and state of residence for the person who completed the lower receiver. Use 2 letter state abbreviation. Maximum 30 characters of text including spaces and commas. We will have to split it into two lines of text if you exceed 14 characters in total length when using locations B or C.
Text is limited to 14 characters in length when placed in locations B or C.
Model number is not required to be engraved. We will include this for free if desired.
All engravings are performed using capital letters.
Custom logo engraving can be performed. This option requires an additional setup fee and clean artwork. Let us know if you are looking for a more custom layout.
We do not report serial numbers or any other customer information. By engraving a serial number, you are not registering your firearm.
